IS PORN HARMFUL?

Before we explore the question - "Is porn harmful?", ask yourself if porn has kept you from doing the things that really matter, affected your time with family and friends, distorted the way you look at the opposite sex...

What happens to the brain

When Adam saw Eve for the first time, he got warm fuzzy feelings! The birds sang, and there was magic in the air. Well, that's the same feeling a dog gets everytime it sees its owner, the same feeling you get when you see that attractive person seated next to you in class. In God's design, dopamine is the chemical responsible for the "good" feeling. But, unfortunately, in this tainted world, we artificially stimulate this, and it is the chemical released in a drug addicts mind when he or she gets "high". Research has identified that Porn does the same thing, and it is considered one of the most deadly drugs that affect the human brain.

Our brains get hard-wired...

Neuroscientists say our brains are flexible organs that harden over time. When one of our 100 billion neurons sends an electro-chemical charge to another neuron, it opens a new path in the brain. If the neuron repeats this signal enough times, the path widens into a road and then a runway. The more we think about something, the more that thought becomes embedded in our brains. It might be easy to change our minds when experiencing a new thought. It’s more difficult when that thought has built a highway in our heads.

  • It becomes addictive like a drug and we tend to want more & more
  • Initially gives a good feeling but makes us feel dirty, guilty & scared

A fantasy reality can't live up to

Pornography distorts a person’s ability to connect with other people in love and respect. This is because it’s content to show human beings as objects of pleasure and nothing more. This might draw the viewer into isolation and pull him/her away from appreciating real love and companionship.

  • Causes erectile dysfunction 1
  • Research shows that pornography is one of the reasons for unsatisfactory marriages, eventually leading to divorce and broken families 2

What porn does to society...

You may say you watch porn but you have not harmed anyone. THINK AGAIN.

  • Pornography is a primary reason why women & children are trafficked into slavery. Nearly 2,000,000 children are globally exploited 3
  • Porn fuels sexual crimes & abuse 4
  • As opposed to popular belief, a porn actor does not lead a glamorous life. They are people just like us who have dreams of having a family. Some forced into prostitution.

Ever thought about why sexual crimes are often recorded?
